This is just awesome! Its like being in a futuristic movie. But of course you still need to wear those 3D glasses. But did you ever thought that this would become a reality? 3DTV has just recently started to launch and now this. Seeing the wildest animals and creatures popping out of your books and walking around in your book's pages.
South Korean scientists in Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology have developed two story books for children using the 3D technology (Digilog Book Format) that makes
characters literally leap off the page. the two books are the earlier domestic version of digilog book which was made with 3 years of research.
“The Digilog Book is in the final development phase and will become available to the public in the near future,” said, Sang-cheol Kim, head of team responsible for overseeing content development. “It will take a while to market this technology to the general public,” Kim added.
The digilog book or "e-book", allows readers to view content in 3D, in addition to being able to touch and smell the objects. Researchers used this "digilog book" technology to animate two children’s books of Korean folk tales, complete with writhing dragons and heroes bounding over mountains. Watch the sample video below.
