American Idol Top 2 | May 14 | Fantasia Barrino

Who are the American Idol Top 2 contestants? The two Davids, of course. There were no shockers this season. David Cook and David Archuleta are the two contestants left, on American Idol, to duke it out next week.

Syesha, a 21-year-old singer/actress from Sarasota, FL was the last woman standing. She gave it her best shot. She provided some great entertainment choosing the perfect songs to show off her personality. She would be a wonderful performer on Broadway. You can look for her to have a successful career in the entertainment industry. Syesha Mercado is one smart young lady.

Coming back to the two Davids, we see the cream always rises to the top. It should be a friendly "battle" next week. It's difficult to predict which one will come out the victor. Whether it is Archuleta, the 17-year-old prodigy from Utah, or Cook, the 25-year-old former bartender from Missouri, one thing is certain -- the next American Idol's name will be "David."

In case you missed the show on May 14th, here are video clips, below. Fantasia Barrino was the guest performer (See Clip #2). Check it out. Enjoy!

March 25 | David Cook | American Idol

American Idol, on March 25th, featured the top 10 contestants performing songs from the year they were born. It was a night of strong performances, but one stole the show.

Born in 1982, David Cook finished out the night with a stunning, brave performance of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.” Cook's rendition was like a ballad with a 'hard rock' twist. Listening to the original "Billie Jean" you probably wouldn't think it would sound good to the ear any other way. You've got to hear this one.

Randy Jackson described it as “original,” “bold” and “molten hot.” Paula Abdul was “blown away” while Simon Cowell, remarking on how it was a great risk changing the song so much, told the singer he was 'brave' and called David Cook “amazing.”

Check out his performance, below:
