Goldberg criticises Franco and Hathaway
Speaking on Monday's episode of The View on ABC, Goldberg said that Franco and Hathaway failed to take charge of the awards show.
"You've got to get people who understand a live show," Goldberg said.
She added: "The first few minutes of that show is yours. You have to recognise two things. You have to recognise - like after Melissa Leo said [the f-word]... when things happen like that you have to be able to come and lift the audience out of their shock and move the show forward. I felt like last night there was no-one in charge."
The comedian continued: "I like James Franco a lot. I like Anne Hathaway a lot. But this is a show that, it's on you to keep it going. It's on you. You have to be able to surf in this show. And I didn't think they surfed as much as they could have."
Goldberg has hosted the Oscars four times.

The New Catwoman In Batman Series
Director Christopher Nolan is all set to continue his Batman saga and he has searched a new Catwoman for his third movie. The new girl is none other than this year's Academy Award hostess Anne Hathaway.
Anne is the latest entry in the Catwoman league, which is made popular by the actresses like Eartha Kittm, Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.
The first Batman movie, which was made in 1966, had actress Lee Meriwether in the role of Catwoman. Since then, many other Batman movies followed and other actresses kept adding in the role of Catwoman. However, the charm of the movie was never lost and Christopher Nolan again revived the saga in 2005 and made two movies on it. The Dark Knight Rises is the third in the series by Nolan. He is planning to release it on July 20, 2012.
We believe Anne will bring a new look and charm to everyone's favourite character 'Catwoman'. She has reportedly bagged the role by beating other top actresses like Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz and Marion Cotillard.
Hopefully, Nolan will continue the charm of his earlier film with this latest venture with a new 'Catwoman' in the line.

Hugh Jackman's Opening Performance | Oscars 2009
Sexiest man alive Hugh Jackman is bringing some excitement and sexiness back to the Oscars with a musical opening that Mr. Oscar himself hasnt seen in the past 81 years.View the Video, below:
Jackman's opening act included his singing about the nominated films, Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, The Reader, The Wrestler and a surprise performance with Anne Hathaway for Frost/Nixon.
Hugh brought Anne Hathaway on stage as they performed a fun duet. Who knew Anne had those pipes? We were surely impressed.
Hugh also joked about the current economic crisis and how he must contractually mention Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at least five times throughout the show. Angie found that really funny!
It was definitely a great opening! The atmosphere was relaxed and fun as the stars that were probably nervous wrecks waiting to hear if they would be taking home an Oscar.
And what's Hollywood without some shameless promotion? Jackman managed to end his number promoting his upcoming flick Wolverine.
In the end, Hugh received a standing ovation.~source
